Carrie’s Letter To Potential Clients
Before co-founding McKinnis & Doom, P.A., I spent four years as a solo-practitioner focusing on family law related matters. Prior to that I spent five years practicing law with a general practice firm and one year practicing with a firm specializing in employment discrimination. During that time, I have had the privilege of representing clients through some of the most difficult and trying times of their lives. I feel fortunate that each of my clients have entrusted me with a significant facet of their lives and it is a responsibility that I do not take lightly.
If you are seeking to hire me as your attorney, I know that something has changed in your life. I know that this is likely a very difficult and uncertain time in your life. Your marriage may be coming to an end, you may not be seeing your child, or you may be having financial difficulties because your ex has not followed through on his/her financial obligations.
It is in these trying times that you need someone who is compassionate, yet an advocate; someone who is honest; and someone who is there for you, even if it is not between the magic hours of 8:00 a.m and 5:00 p.m. No matter what situation you are facing, you can count on the fact that as your attorney, I will be available for you (and not just during business hours), I will be honest with you, and I will be a zealous advocate for you.
As a resident of Cambridge, I am also committed to this community. I currently serve as the Chair of the North 65 Chamber of Commerce. I assist families in obtaining “financial peace” through leading Financial Peace University at my church. I have also served on the Church Council of Cambridge Lutheran Church and as President of New Pathways, Inc., a non-profit organization committed to helping homeless families.
